| ALYN BUS My own little personal bus fleet. Alyn Bus exists purely as an excuse to try out the old Bolton Transport livery on on more recent vehicles although I think an update is on the cards. Almost all transfers on the models are home produced on the computer and printed out on "Crafty" transfer sheet. I "operate" a few routes around the Wrexham-Chester corridor, the main one being the 34E from Rossett to Chester Station. This will run until Network Rail re-opens Rossett station on the Chester-Wrexham line. Or just after pigs start to fly, whichever is sooner! It's not really in competition with Arrivas No1 route as it takes a different route into Chester, and doesn't stop between Pulford and Boughton. There are other routes from Wrexham to Brymbo, Coedpoeth, Llay, Summerhill, and Llangollen. A local schools contract has recently expired so the 3 Bristol VRs in the fleet will be withdrawn. There are plans to modernise the fleet as more recent vehicles come on the market, and to expand the heritage fleet for summer use on the Llangollen route. There's even talk of an open topper for going over the Horseshoe Pass ! All total fantasy but there you go................. |
